Mary Ann Dion, 78, of 1142 W. Fourth St., Lock Haven, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at her home.

She was born in Lock Haven on November 23, 1936, the daughter of the late True and Alice Biddle Yearick.

Mary was a 1956 graduate of Lock Haven High School and attended I.C.M. School of Business in Pittsburgh.

On December 12, 1998 at the Flemington Church of Christ, she married Norman J. Dion, whom preceded her in death on May 21, 2006.

Mary was employed at the former Clinton Paper Company of Lock Haven before serving as an Airman Second Class in the U.S. Air Force from August 27, 1957 to September 1, 1958.

She was employed as a supervisor with Mini Markets, Ames Department Store and Philco Ford Company in the Lansdale, Pa area. Mary was the first fire woman at Red Hill Fire Company, where she served for seven years and served on the borough council for two years in Red Hill, Pa.

Mary was certified as an E.M.T. in Upper Perkiomnen Ambulance Corps. for seven years and served as Police Commissioner for two years in Perkiomnen, Pa. She then retired in 1994. Mary was currently a sitting member of the Flemington Borough Council.

She was a member of the United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Moose Lodge #100 and the Castanea Fire Company.

Mary is survived by a son, Michael A. McCain of Lock Haven; a daughter, Laura L. (Ken) McCain Stem of Blanchard; a brother, John F. (Mary) Yearick of Linden; two sisters, Eileen (Bruce) Williamson of Alabama and Georgie (Richard) Bowman of Lock Haven; and four grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 47 Rest Haven Drive, Lock Haven, Pa 17745 with Rev. Mark Riley officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
