LOCK HAVEN – The Clinton County Economic Partnership has announced that Julie Brennan has been hired as the organization’s new chamber and tourism director.

“We are very glad to hire someone of Julie’s caliber and experience,” said Partnership President Mike Flanagan. “She is well known and well respected throughout the entire county and will do a great job in this position which requires a lot of outreach. She believes in our county and is such a good ambassador for us now and will be in the future.”

Brennan, a Flemington resident, has made the county her home since 1976 and was the county’s Chamber of Commerce director from 1984 to 1987. She will oversee the Partnership’s Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Promotion Agency aspects, including the marketing of the county and events, as well as recreational opportunities.

“To hire someone with the knowledge and experience that Julie Brennan brings to the table is such a win for us and the county,” said Tourist Promotion Agency chairman Louis Anastos. “She was a former Chamber official and started many of the programs that we still have today. Her ability to communicate and gain the trust of people is top notch. We could not have asked for a better person to fill the position.”

Brennan was recently the chief communications officer for STEP Inc. Prior to that, she was a legislative aide for State Sen. John Wozniak. She was also a communications manager with International Paper, both at the Lock Haven facility and in Franklin, Va.

Brennan has a wealth of experience in writing, editing, photography and videography, and public speaking. She is serving and has served on many community boards and agencies.

“I am excited for this opportunity to work with people, both Partnership staff and volunteers, who have the same passion for Clinton County that I do,” said Brennan. “I have built relationships with people from all walks of life, from my neighbors, to business men and woman and people in the nonprofit community, to municipal, county, state and federal leaders. I look forward to being part of the team working to expand that network to generate more business and tourism opportunities for Clinton County.”

Brennan will begin working in her new position on June 29.

The Clinton County Economic Partnership is the economic development, chamber and tourism entity for the county. The organization has approximately 300 dues-paying members.
