Doris A. Merrifield, 96

Doris A. Merrifield, 96, of Lock Haven passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 at Lock Haven Rehabilitation and Senior Living.
Born January 8, 1929 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Gladys Perry Newberry.
On June 23, 1948, she married the love of her life, Richard W. Merrifield, Sr., with whom she celebrated 70 years of marriage before his passing.
Doris enjoyed watching her Pittsburgh teams and playing Bingo.
Doris is survived by one child, Myra Spangler of Lock Haven; one sister, Beverly Grassmier; eight grandchildren: Amy (Bob) Friedman, Dave (Shannon) Bechdel, Rick (Mike) Merrifield, Krista (Eric) Hoover, Lacy (Bob) Wahlers, Brian Merrifield, Robert Parks and Danny Merrifield; and 13 great grandchildren: Danielle, Wayne, Alaina, Brooke, Brenden, Logan, Tirza, Georgia, Trapper, Aspen, Jacob, River and Taylor. She was blessed with seven great, great grandchildren: Cadence, Kori, Asher, Maverick, Rowen, Richie and Teddy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Merrifield, Sr. and sons, Danny Merrifield and Richard Merrifield, Jr.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 1 until 4 PM at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Doris’ name may be made to the Salvation Army through the funeral home.
