Renovo Community Choir Christmas Concert “Light of the World” to Shine in Renovo

RENOVO — The 7th Street First United Methodist Church will welcome the Renovo Area Community Choir on December 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. for a special presentation of “Light of the World,” A Cantata for Advent & Christmas by Joseph Martin and Pamela Martin.
The cantata brings to life the everlasting story of the birth of Jesus, the “Light of the World,” through carols of faith and the retelling of the sacred Christmas narrative. Jamie Stone will serve as narrator as the choir performs beloved traditional hymns alongside new selections created for the season.
The program opens with “In the Bleak Mid-Winter” and continues with “The Promised Light,” “An Advent Credo,” “Advent Celebration,” “Bethlehem Light” (O Little Town of Bethlehem), “In Silence He Came,” “Rise and Shine!,” “Invitation to the Manger” (O Come Little Children), “All Is Calm, All Is Bright” (Silent Night, Holy Night), and concludes with “A Blessing of Light.”
Courtney Billings will be the featured soloist for both “In the Bleak Mid-Winter” and “In Silence He Came.”
As the choir sings, Sophia Heiser, Matthew Ross, Kohen Stewart, Kahner Stewart, Joseph Heiser, Quinn Dorman, and Stephen Heiser will help bring the Christmas story to life through special portrayals.
Three musical selections will precede the cantata: Dennis Smith singing “We Are the Reason” accompanied by Abby Novak; Kedda Bissman performing “Christmas Is Coming” on keyboard; and Jim Cozzi singing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” also accompanied by Abby Novak.
Following the concert, the audience is invited to enjoy refreshments provided by the Renovo Area Women’s Club.
The community is warmly welcomed to attend and celebrate this sacred season while reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas.
