Santa Brings North Pole Magic to Renovo’s Christmas Parade

By Kevin Rauch
RENOVO — A touch of North Pole magic found its way to Renovo on Sunday afternoon. Just as the annual Flaming Foliage Festival Christmas Parade prepared to start at 4:00 PM, an hour-long cold rain stopped falling. Crowds quickly filled the streets, eager to celebrate—and cheer on—the festive event highlighted, of course, by the arrival of Ol’ St. Nick himself.

Nearly a dozen community groups and organizations added to the holiday spirit with creative floats, lively music, and even horses dressed as reindeer. The parade made its way down Huron Avenue and into the Flaming Foliage Lot, where Santa greeted children and listened to their Christmas wishes.

Bucktail senior Lola English helped make the day even brighter. Not only did she serve as one of Santa’s elves during the parade, but as part of her senior project she also transformed the area around Santa’s shed with festive decorations, created fun photo opportunities, and handed out treats to visiting children—adding an extra layer of warmth and joy to the celebration.
