Heroes Remembered: Wreaths Across America Comes to Cedar Hill

MILL HALL – Welcome to Heroes & Horses and Wreaths Across America and the joint effort to provide wreaths at Cedar Hill Cemetery for our Veterans laid to rest there. We are spotlighting the “Stories Behind the Headstones”.

H&H’s Partnership with Wreaths Across America aims to commemorate 920 Veterans at Cedar Hill Cemetery. We are so close, only 71 wreaths to get to our “Mission Accomplished”.

This December, Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mill Hall, PA, will become a place of collective remembrance as remembrance wreaths are laid on the graves of 920 veterans, including James L. Pringle. This heartfelt initiative is made possible through a fundraiser led by Vickie Hancock, the founder of the Heroes & Horses (H&H) organization and Ella Yothers, Fundraising Coordinator for H&H, in partnership with Wreaths Across America.

A dedicated serviceman, James served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during World War II as a Staff Sergeant, in the Pacific Theatre. James was a member of the Lamar Volunteer Fire Co., the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Lock Haven when he passed away at the age of 48, Tuesday, March 19, 1968.

Vickie Hancock and the H&H organization continue efforts to raise funds for the initiative. The community is invited to make contributions towards remembrance wreaths from the Wreaths Across America Organization so that every veteran laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery can be honored before Christmas Day this year. In order to lay a wreath on every veteran’s gravesite at Cedar Hill, H&H needs to raise $11,050.00.

On December 13, 2025, James’s grave site will be honored with a remembrance wreath, ensuring that he, along with all the other veterans resting at Cedar Hill Cemetery, are remembered and appreciated for their service and sacrifice.
