Proposed City Budget Could see $1.3 million dollar increase

LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven City Council met Monday evening to begin discussions on the 2026 budget with no tax increase included.

According to the proposed budget, the taxable mills for land will come down to 15 (currently at 20), and the mills for improvements will go up slightly to 10.9 (currently 9.8).

As of Monday evening, the total fund breakdown is below:
General Fund ~ $6.4 million
Fire Fund ~ $475,000
Water ~ $3 million
Sewer ~ $4.2 million
Airport ~ $235,000
Stormwater Fund ~ $279,000
Highway ~ $328,000
Total 2026 Budget: $15,204,563
“The final numbers will change as we approach final budget adoption,” City Manager Greg Wilson said.

In comparison, the budget for 2025 was $1.38 million dollars less, hovering at $13,821,668.

City Council will meet at 7:00 p.m. on the next three Monday’s to discuss the 2026 budget.
November 24: Public Safety budget hearing
December 1: Community Life, Planning, and Airport budget hearing
December 8: Budget adoption (tentative)
