Neon Night, Music and Contests Highlight Corn Maze This Weekend

PINE CREEK – Come out for some down on the farm fun at the Pine Creek Corn Maze this weekend!
Heading into its fourth of five fall weekends, the maze and festival at the Pine Creek Seed Farm in South
Avis offers something different each weekend, and this weekend is no exception.

The corn maze and festival open at Noon both Saturday and Sunday, and those who’ve already come out say it takes them more than an hour to get through the 19-acre maze. There are questions throughout and plenty of paths to explore…some leading somewhere and others headed for a dead-end. In all, some 3.6-miles of pathways have been cut for this year’s maze, the largest and most complex and challenging in the Pine Creek Corn Maze’s five-year history.

In addition to the maze, there’s a festival at the Seed Farm, with food, drink and various craft and informational exhibitors. People can explore the pumpkin patch, play games, and enjoy Elvis and a few fellow pygmy goats and Mason, the llama.

This Saturday, people can also participate in a hay bale contest that’s planned for 2:00 p.m. The band Just Cause is slated to take to the stage around 6:00 p.m., and after dark, it’ll be “Neon Night,” where people will encounter a variety of glow-in-the-dark items as they make their way through the corn maze.

On Sunday, around 3:30 p.m., a pick-up group of musicians organized by performers Lindsey Swales and
Clark McLane and calling themselves the PA Folk Riot will take the stage for an afternoon of entertainment.
One of the largest in the state, the Pine Creek Corn Maze in South Avis (39 Seeds Lane, Jersey Shore) is open Saturday from Noon until 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, Noon until 6:00 p.m. Admission is only $10 per person, with children age three and under admitted free. The family-friendly maze is handicapped and stroller accessible.

Proceeds from the nonprofit corn maze are earmarked for several local organizations, including the Lock Haven Catholic School, Avis Volunteer Fire Company, Hyner Lodge Foundation, Jersey Shore Boys Basketball Boosters, Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority at Commonwealth University-Lock Haven, Jersey Shore Public Library, and the Avis Area Recreation Association.

Next weekend, October 25 and 26, will be the final weekend of the 2025 maze.
