Lady Wildcats Soccer Falls at Williamsport 6-2

WILLIAMSPORT-The Central Mountain Lady Wildcats traveled down Route 220 on Monday night to face the Williamsport Lady Millionaires in a key PHAC 1 league matchup. The evening carried special significance as both teams came together for the Pink Game, uniting in the fight against breast cancer. Williamsport created a warm and meaningful atmosphere, welcoming fans with pink decorations, baskets, and raffles throughout the entrance.

The Lady Wildcats battled but fell 6-2 over the Lady Millionaires.

On the field, Williamsport struck early, breaking through about twelve minutes into the match and building momentum from there. The Lady Millionaires scored three times in the first half and added three more in the second, including an early penalty kick converted by their leading scorer.

Despite the scoreline, the Lady Wildcats continued to battle, matching Williamsport’s physicality and pressing forward late in the match. Their persistence paid off around the 70th minute when Ashlyn Zener found Lily McGonigal, who calmly slotted home her third goal of the season. Just minutes later, McGonigal returned the favor, assisting Zener for her first goal of the year, capping the night with a well-earned positive finish.

Next up, Central Mountain returns home for its final home match of the season against Bloomsburg. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m., with a special Teacher Appreciation recognition by the seniors prior to the start.
