Lady Wildcats Sweep St. Marys to Close Season with Winning Record

MILL HALL – The Central Mountain girls tennis team closed out its season in style on Thursday afternoon, sweeping visiting St. Marys 5-0. The victory capped off a strong finish for the Lady Wildcats, who end the year with a winning 9-8 record.

Central Mountain was dominant across the board, taking all three singles and both doubles matches. Lucy Walker opened at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Isabelle Farabaugh, while Lane Walker followed with a steady 6-2, 6-4 victory against Izzy Collins. At No. 3 singles, Kassie Williams provided the highlight of the day, storming back from a 2-5 deficit in the second set to defeat Pilar Pfoutz 6-3, 7-5.

In doubles play, the Wildcats continued their strong showing. Audra Eaton and Kylee Markle downed Anna Pokrolab and Karli Frantz 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Leah Wian and Tess Akeley closed out the sweep with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 win over Claire Colosimo and Daphne McCall at No. 2 doubles.

The Wildcats’ balanced effort reflected their growth throughout the season, with contributions coming from every spot in the lineup. With the win, Central Mountain locked in a winning record at 9-8, closing the year on a high note.
