Wildcats Gain Experience at Hershey Invitational

HERSHEY-The Central Mountain boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Hershey to compete in a highly competitive invitational held on the PIAA state course Saturday. Both squads turned in strong efforts, with many athletes posting their best times on the challenging course.

Boys Results

The Wildcat boys showed depth and consistency throughout their lineup. Junior Damien Winner led the way with a time of 18:42. He was followed by Riley Gonzales (20:34), Che McAllister (20:39), Shane Walker (20:40), and Shayden Hill (20:41), with the trio crossing the line just seconds apart. Rounding out the top varsity efforts were Xian (21:27), Latrell Walker (21:39), Gabe Houser (22:27), Brayden Bird (22:44), Will Stout (23:03), Jaxon Hardy (23:50), Myles Winslow (25:50), and Rhys Swift (29:34).

Girls Results

The Lady Wildcats also turned in solid runs on the demanding Hershey course. Emma Wolfe set the pace in 24:03, followed closely by Aubrey Eiler in 24:09. They were backed by Kaylie McCloskey (25:49), Abigail Winslow (26:42), Calienna Cardinal (27:55), Liz McCloskey (29:00), Addison Knipe (31:31), Sage Rippey (33:45), and Kennedy Metzger (36:38).

Looking Ahead

Competing on the state course gave both teams valuable experience and confidence as they continue through the second half of the season. Many Wildcats left Hershey with course-best performances, a positive sign as postseason races approach.
