Bucktail tennis keeps rolling, big week ahead
By Bees O’Brien
MUNCY- Bucktail tennis kept their momentum going on Thursday afternoon in a Mid Penn showdown with Muncy. The Lady Bucks dominated the Lady Indians for the second time this season by a 5-0 count. The win will put Bucktail at 8-1 on the season with a pair of challenging matches next week.
Eva Sockman, Kendall Wagner and Lola English once again swept through their singles matches, despite challenging efforts from the Muncy singles lineup.
Kelsie Wagner and McKenna Bissman picked up a doubles win for Bucktail, as did Carrie Ditty and Riley Salizonni.
If the Lady Bucks wish to keep their Mid Penn title hopes alive, they will need to defeat Montgomery on Tuesday on the road. Bucktailowns a 3-2 win over the Lady Red Raiders in Farwell earlier this season. Montgomery has come on strong and currently sit in third place in the District IV 2A tennis standing, while Bucktail holds the fifth spot.
On Thursday Bucktail is set to host PHAC-1 opponents Jersey Shore (3-7) in what could carry a lot of postseason weight for both teams.
