Keystone’s State Tournament Run Ends Against Hollidaysburg

FAIRCHANCE – The Keystone 10-12 Majors All-Stars saw their impressive postseason journey come to an end Wednesday afternoon, falling to Hollidaysburg 8-2 in an elimination game at the Pennsylvania State Tournament.

Despite the loss, Keystone closes its run with both District and Section 3 championships, capping off a strong summer campaign.

Keystone jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning as Giovanni Cej ripped a double. In the fourth, Cej delivered again—this time with a go-ahead RBI single to put Keystone in front 2-1.

But Hollidaysburg responded in a big way. After tying the game in the third, they pushed across three runs in the fourth and added four more in the fifth to take control.

Cej led the Keystone offense with a double and a single. Brooks Warner, Carter Leone, and Karter Markle each added hits for the Wildcats.

On the mound, Dylan McDermott, Jordan Germello, and Warner combined for six strikeouts and four walks. Hollidaysburg’s Max P. went the distance, striking out five without issuing a walk.

Hollidaysburg was powered by home runs from Holden S., Brayden S., and Christian M., helping them advance further in the bracket.

Box Score:
