Keystone Falls to Glenmoore, Faces Elimination in State Semifinals
FAIRCHANCE – One day after opening the Pennsylvania Major Baseball State Tournament with a shutout win, the Keystone 10-12 All-Stars ran into a red-hot Glenmoore (GEYA) team on Tuesday evening and fell 9-0 in the semifinal round.
Glenmoore struck early and often, scoring in each of the first four innings before breaking things open with a five-run fifth. Keystone struggled to find offensive momentum, managing just two hits in the game.
Keystone’s only hits came from Brooks Warner and Jaxon Orndorf, as Glenmoore’s pitching duo of Ethan H. and Nick B. kept the offense in check. Ethan H. tossed four dominant innings, striking out eight and allowing just one hit. Nick B. finished the final two frames, striking out two and giving up one hit and one walk.
Keystone used a committee approach on the mound, starting with Giovanni Cej for two innings before turning to Carter Leone (2.1 IP), Brooks Warner, and Dylan McDermott. The group combined for five strikeouts and five walks.
Glenmoore was led at the plate by Aidan M., who had three hits. Franky K. chipped in two, while Mike K., Gabe M., Logan W., and Heath P. each added one hit.
With the loss, Keystone moves to the elimination bracket and will look to bounce back on Wednesday at 1 p.m. as they fight to keep their tournament hopes alive.
