Clutch Seventh Inning Propels Keystone Past Elk Lake, Advances in Sectional Play

ATHENS – Keystone’s 10-12 Majors All-Stars found themselves in a tight battle Saturday Afternoon in sectional action against Elk Lake, but a relentless seven-run effort in the final inning powered them to a 7-2 victory in Athens.

Elk Lake put up two runs in the opening frame, but Keystone’s pitching and defense clamped down from there. After tying the game in the second, Keystone remained patient and poised until breaking through in a big way in the top of the seventh.

Jordan Germello led the offense with a two-hit night, while Brooks Warner, Adam Meyer, Carter Leone, Hunter Kisko, and Jaxon Orndorf each added a hit. Karter Markle came through with a double.

After a start by Giovanni Cej, Adam Meyer took over on the mound and delivered a dominant performance. Meyer threw six innings, striking out 11 batters, walking three, and allowing just one hit. Dylan McDermott closed the door in the seventh to secure the win.
