Words of Grace

By Rev. Mahlon Nevel

The Gospel of John, according to John himself, was written to prove that Jesus is the true Messiah. He performed miracle after miracle to show to the world that he was sent by God.

Not all the miracles are written about. He indeed worked many others, that were signs to the people. (John 20:30,31)

Nicodemus believed that he must have come from. No man could have done the miracles he did, unless God had been with him. (3:2)

There were many who believed after they saw his miracles. (2:23) A great number of people began to follow him when they saw him working miracles. (6:2)

Many Jews believed that Jesus was the Messiah they had been looking for. “When Christ (Messiah) comes,” they asked, “Will he do more miracles than these which this man has done?” (7:31)

The Pharisees refused to believe in him. Because he healed a man on the Sabbath, they accused him of breaking the Ten Commandments. “This man is not of God,” they said.

When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, many of the Jews believed when they saw, the miracle. (11:45) The Pharisees had to admit that “this man doeth many miracles.” (V.47)

“He’s able… He healed the broken-hearted, He set the captive free, He made the lame to walk again, and He caused the blind to see.”
