Keystone Softball 10-12 Fall to WALL in Weather-Shortened Playoff Opener

COGAN STATION – The Keystone Softball 10-12 began their playoff run Thursday evening against WALL at Hepburn Lycoming Field. Despite a strong effort on the mound and in the field, Keystone fell 1-0 in a five-inning game that was called early due to weather.

The lone run came in the top of the fifth inning when WALL’s Piper F. delivered a hit and came around to score. That proved to be the difference in an otherwise tightly contested game.

Keystone’s Madison Edwards recorded the team’s only hit with a single, while pitcher Tori Peters turned in a dominant performance. Peters went the distance, striking out 11, walking one, and allowing just one hit and one run.

WALL’s Baylin B. matched that effort, striking out 13 in five innings and giving up only one hit to secure the win. WALL will move on to face the winner of the Jersey Shore/GSV and Montoursville contest on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Keystone Clinton Field.

Keystone will look to keep their season alive in a must-win game against Loyalsock on Friday. First pitch is set for 5:45 p.m. at South Williamsport.
