Neighbors Will Help One Family at a Time
LOCK HAVEN — Everyone is invited to mark the week of June 9 to 13. That’s when we can pitch in and help our neighbors “One Family at a Time”.
And anyone across the county is welcome to apply for help with things like small house repairs, cleaning, yard work, and more.
Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, organizes this annual hometown mission project. It’s perfect for service clubs, youth groups, families, teens who want to contribute their talents, and anyone who wants that good feeling you get from helping others.
You may sign up for food preparation, driving, first aid, painting, yard work, skilled work or other duties. All the planning and logistics are taken care of for you, and lunch is provided each day.
The church is getting work project requests already. Mission leader Sherry Wilson is looking for projects that a crew of four to six people can handle in four and a-half days or less. These can include small house repairs and construction, painting, lawn work, weatherization, house cleaning, window cleaning.
Projects are being scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 9 to 13. An adult in the family must be home while the work is being done.
If you would like more information, call Wilson at 570-749-6041 or Pastor Justin Frear at Covenant Church at 570-748-6481, or email covenantumc@susumc.org.
Volunteers and people requesting help are asked to fill out brief applications. These are available from Wilson, Pastor Justin, or online at the church’s website at
