Bucktail Falls to Claysburg-Kimmel in First Round of PIAA Playoffs
CLAYSBURG – The Bucktail Lady Bucks saw their season come to an end on Monday with a 10-0 loss to Claysburg-Kimmel in the opening round of the PIAA Class A playoffs.
Claysburg-Kimmel struck early and often, scoring in each of the first four innings and finishing the game in five innings by mercy rule. The Lady Bulldogs tallied 10 runs on 8 hits and played error-free softball.
Bucktail was held to just one hit on the afternoon, a single by Kendall Wagner. The Lady Bucks committed two errors.
Carrie Ditty battled in the circle for the Lady Bucks, allowing eight hits and 10 runs while issuing three walks and striking out two. Claysburg-Kimmel connected for two home runs in the victory.
Paris was dominant for Claysburg-Kimmel, tossing a one-hitter while striking out 10 and walking just one.
With the loss, Bucktail’s season comes to a close, but the program looks ahead with optimism. Much of the team is expected to return next year, setting the foundation for continued growth and development in 2025.
