Bowman’s Big Day Helps Lady Wildcats Top Mifflin County, 12-4
LEWISTOWN – Central Mountain used a seven-run seventh inning to pull away from Mifflin County and secure a 12-4 road win on Monday.
The Lady Wildcats collected 14 hits in the game and broke things open late, capitalizing on defensive miscues and timely hitting to close out the win. Leading the charge was Katelyn Bowman, who went 3-for-4 at the plate, including a bases-clearing triple in the seventh that gave Central Mountain breathing room. She finished the day with four RBIs.
Aubrey Eiler added two hits, including a double, while Cirstyn Watson collected two hits of her own, one of them a triple. Cora Myers chipped in with a double among her two hits, and Joslyn Shultz added a triple as part of a two-hit day. Taylor Doyle also had a strong outing at the plate, notching two hits including a triple. Aubrey Miller and Rylan Andrews each contributed with a base hit.
In the circle, Camdyn Weaver got the start and went five innings, allowing five hits and four runs, walking one, and striking out two. Joslyn Shultz came in to close and was dominant over the final two innings, not allowing a hit or a run.
The Lady Wildcats improved win streak to 11 and are scheduled next to host State College on Tuesday weather permitting.
