Lady Wildcats take down strong Shore team 7-3

Jersey Shore- Central Mountain made a huge statement on Monday afternoon in Jersey Shore. The Lady Bulldogs have been ruling District IV 4A for the past couple of seasons, but on Monday it was the Lady Wildcats who went into Jersey Shore and dominated the hosts in a 7-3 win.

Central Mountain jumped out to a 2-0 lead on starting pitcher Isabelle Engel. Shore eventually tossed three pitchers at CM throughout the seven innings and it had little effect on stopping a Central Mountain offense that racked up 10 hits.

A big 5-run fourth inning had CM thinking mercy rule, but Jersey Shore battled back in their half of the fourth inning with a pair of runs and they’d cross their final run of the game the following inning.

Jersey Shore’s Lynna Clark shut down the Lady Wildcats’ offense for the final three innings of the contests by pitching three flawless innings in which she did not allow a single base runner and fanned 3 Lady Wildcats in the process.

Joslyn Shultz got the win in the circle for Central Mountain by going the complete 7 innings and struck out 7 batters.

Aubry Eiler and Ava Doyle both collected two hits each for the Lady Wildcats. Cirstyn Watson, Rylan Andrews, Kaitlynn Bowman, Cora Myers, Shultz and Taylor Doyle also had hits for Central Mountain.

Dani Miller and Isabelle Engel led Jersey Shore with two hits each, with Engel collecting a triple.

Central Mountain (7-1) will next meet Danville on Tuesday, a team they already own a 13-3 victory over.
