LHU’s Balestrini hits PSAC leading 11th home run; Softball falls twice at Bloomsburg
BLOOMSBURG– The Lock Haven softball team fell to Bloomsburg 5-2 and 13-2 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division doubleheader on the road on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bald Eagles move to 15-25 overall and 9-21 in the PSAC East. Bloomsburg improves to 28-14 on the season and 18-10 in the conference.
Madison Harvy and Blaire Balestrini homered during the doubleheader for Lock Haven.
The four-bagger was the 11th of the season for Balestrini, who is now tied for the conference lead.
Game 1 Recap: Bloomsburg 5, Lock Haven 2
In game one, Bloomsburg struck first with a solo run in the bottom of the first inning, but Lock Haven rallied for a pair of runs in the top of the third to take its first lead, 2-1.
Balestrini hit her team-leading 11th homer of the season, a two-run shot, to put the Bald Eagles on top.
However, the Huskies responded with four runs during their next at-bats and didn’t allow another run to take the opening game of the day, 5-2.
Three different Bald Eagles recorded hits with Balestrini’s homer leading the way.
Wesneski got the ball for The Haven and pitched six-complete innings, while allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits.
Game 2 Recap: Bloomsburg 13, Lock Haven 2
In game two, the Huskies scored in every inning en route to a 13-2 victory.
The Bald Eagles scored their two runs in the bottom of the fifth off a two-run home run from Hardy, her sixth of the season.
Hardy’s big fly and a 2-for-3 (3B) game from Balestrini led the way for The Haven.

The Bald Eagles remain on the road and will travel to Shippensburg on Friday (April 25) for a 2 p.m. PSAC East doubleheader. Friday is The Haven’s 2025 regular season finale.
