Northwest Rolls Past Bucktail in Resumed Matchup
FARWELL – Bucktail resumed its previously suspended game against Northwest on Monday, but the visiting Rangers wasted no time reestablishing control, handing the Bucks a 12-1 defeat.
The contest, halted last week due to extreme weather, picked up with Northwest already holding momentum. The Rangers struck early and often, plating four runs in the first and adding to their lead across four innings to secure the win in five.
Bucktail managed just one run on four hits. Teagan Stone, Keller Friese, Ethan Kalafut, and Tyler Hillyer each recorded a hit for the Bucks.
Kalafut got the start on the mound and pitched two innings, allowing seven runs on six hits while striking out two and walking two. Gavin Pick entered in relief and finished the final 3.1 innings, giving up eight hits and four runs while striking out one.
Now looking to bounce back, Bucktail will head to CMVT for a road contest on Tuesday. The Bucks then travel to Sullivan County on Thursday before returning home Saturday to host their annual tournament.
