LHU Women’s Track & Field competes at the Bucknell Team Challenge

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven women’s track and field team entered week five of its outdoor season by competing at the Bucknell Team Challenge hosted by Bucknell on Saturday, finishing with 52 points.
The Bucknell Team Challenge took place at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
PSAC Qualifying Marks
Alyssa VanGorder (Hammer Throw), Clarissa Davis (Shot Put), Nicole Carroll (1500m), Samantha Trench (100mH), Maria Pugila (Javelin Throw), Aubrey Sechrist (800m) and Natalie Gentzel (400mH)
Track Highlights
The 4×400-meter relay team of Natalie Gentzel, Makayla Weber, Elizabeth Shultz, and Nicole Carroll placed first with a time of 3:56.71.
Gentzel and Shultz were joined by Sydney Stahl and Lilian Bradley in the 4×100-meter relay, which finished with a time of 50.44.
Gentzel and Carroll also hit PSAC times in individual events, with Gentzel finishing with a PSAC time of 1:05.23 in the 400-meter hurdles and Carroll finishing with a PSAC time of 4:47.63 in the 1500-meter run.
In the 110-meter hurdles, Samantha Trench placed third with a PSAC time 15.07.
Aubrey Sechrist rounds out the PSAC qualifiers for The Haven on the track, finishing at 2:15.97 in the 800-meter.
Kiersten Lloyd and Paige Daugherty finished at 12:44.00 and 14:27.79 in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
Field Highlights
Trench won the high jump with a height of 5-01.
Alyssa VanGorder achieved a PSAC distance of 159-04 in the hammer throw finishing third.
Rounding out the PSAC qualifiers for The Haven in the field was Clarissa Davis in the shot put, throwing for a PSAC distance of 40-09.
Maria Puglia scored points for the Bald Eagles in the javelin throw with a throw of 127-06.
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles will travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Thursday-Saturday, April 24-26, to compete in the Penn Relays hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
