Seniors Romp 10-1 over Milton

MILL HALL—Monday was a good day for Central Mountain baseball: it was senior day and Mike Kramer started nine of them in what turned out to be a 10-1 trouncing of Milton.
The win was the fifth in a row for the Wildcats and left them with a 10-3 overall mark, 10-2 in Heartland Conference play. The Black Panthers dropped to 1-10 in conference play, 2-12 overall.
While the Central Mountain seniors did their share, Milton helped, committing five errors and surrendering seven walks and six stolen bases.
Senior Kenny Heverly picked up the win, going six innings, giving up one unearned first inning run; he struck out nine and walked one, spreading around three singles. Junior Alex Garbrick pitched a scoreless final inning to help preserve the win.
Central Mountain picked up seven hits, all singles and all from the seniors, including two each from Ethan McGill and Bryce Hanley, McGill with an RBI and Hanley with two. Other hits came from Zach Skrtich, David Kohen and Dylan Kerstetter. Clayton Butler drove in two runs.
Other seniors who started and played most of the game included Trapper Kunes and Wes Smeal. Pitcher Caleb Seyler did not play, out for the year with a back injury.
The Wildcats, vying to improve their seed for the District 6 playoffs now a few weeks away, will travel to Montoursville Tuesday, host Selinsgrove Wednesday and finish the week with an out-of-conference game at Bellefonte Friday.
