The Clinton County Democratic Committee (CCDC) has partnered with the American Red Cross to hold at least one blood drive per year since 2019.

Individuals who have donated since January 8, 2025, are not eligible to donate for this event due to the recommended 56-day period between donations.

“With a simple blood donation, we have the ability to help save the life of someone who could be a coworker, loved one or neighbor,” added Rose Reeder, CCDC Blood Drive Coordinator..

Blood is perishable and can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross.

“We urge community members to donate blood and help ensure that patients in local hospitals have a supply of blood ready and waiting before an emergency occurs. There’s no better feeling than knowing that your blood donation may give someone a second chance at life,” said Reeder.

According to the Red Cross, donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative.

“The Clinton County Democratic Party is dedicated to strengthening our community through value-driven community action and service like this one. In addition to partnering with the American Red Cross to support local critical care needs, CCDC participates in PennDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program, performing routine roadside cleanups, and formed a Relay For Life team to help raise funds to defeat cancer,” said Bre Brannan, chair of the county party. “Join us to learn more about how you can get involved!”
