Taylor Doyle’s 34-Point Performance Leads Central Mountain Past South Williamsport

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT – Behind a dominant scoring effort from Taylor Doyle, the Central Mountain girls basketball team secured a 62-52 victory over South Williamsport on Thursday night.

Doyle delivered a stellar performance, pouring in a game-high 34 points, including five three-pointers and a perfect 7-for-7 at the free-throw line. She powered the Wildcats to a fast start, as Central Mountain built a 22-12 lead after the first quarter and never trailed.

The Wildcats extended their advantage to 36-18 at halftime, but South Williamsport battled back in the third quarter. Led by Ella Moore’s 23 points, the Mountaineers exploded for 27 points in the period, cutting the deficit to single digits heading into the fourth quarter. Abby Akers also made an impact for South, scoring 19 points and knocking down 7-of-8 free throws.

Despite the push, Central Mountain remained composed in the final eight minutes. Ava Doyle added 13 points, going 5-for-6 from the foul line, while Camdyn Weaver contributed 11 points for the Wildcats and Lena Walker added four.

Central Mountain’s defense tightened up in the fourth quarter, limiting South Williamsport to just 10 points and sealing the win.

The Lady Wildcats will be right back at it traveling to 12-9 Milton Friday.
