Morgan Signs with St. Vincent College (Video Report)
FAREWELL – Thursday, April 30, 2015 was a day of celebration and reflection for Maria Morgan at Bucktail High School. The record setting Lady Buck made her college choice official, selecting St. Vincent College as her institution of choice to further her education and be the next step in her athletic endeavors.
The event also included reminiscing with friends, family and faculty with some hot pizza and tasty cupcakes for an impromptu luncheon.
Saint Vincent College is a four-year, coeducational, Roman Catholic, Benedictine, liberal arts college located about 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh in Latrobe, Pa. The atmosphere at the school convinced Morgan it was a good choice for her.
St. Vincent has intercollegiate teams including football, baseball, softball, women’s volleyball, basketball and cross country. The college is a NCAA member competing in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference, at the Division III level.
Basketball, isn’t Morgan’s only concern for choosing St. Vincent. The school was also a good fit for her academic aspirations. Morgan will pursue a degree in criminology.
Now that the pressure of basketball and tennis are over, Morgan is finding time to enjoy playing on the Lady Bucks softball team and focusing on all the special events remaining in her senior year.
