LHU Volleyball drops PSAC East match vs. Shepherd
LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven volleyball team fell at home to Shepherd 3-0 (30-32, 18-25, 21-25) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match on Friday night (Oct. 18) inside Thomas Fieldhouse.
Evie Jane Rembold and Olivia Cook led the Bald Eagles on the attacking end, finishing with nine and eight kills, respectively.
Kelly Gaston finished with a team-high 27 assists, while adding nine digs and three kills.
Reagon Irons and Natalie Acevedo led the Bald Eagles’ defense with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Irons and Acevedo also combined for seven assists.
Alyssa Daley led the team with two solo blocks.
In set one, Lock Haven held set-point at 24-21, but the Rams battled back to knot the score at 24-24. The schools traded points all the way until 30-30, when Shepherd scored on back-to-back rallies to steal the game.
The Rams finished with a match-high .40 hit percentage to run away with the second set, 25-18.
In the final set, Lock Haven took a 17-16 lead, but Shepherd ended the match on a 9-4 run to clinch the match and the sweep.
Lock Haven moves top 4-10 overall and 2-4 in the PSAC East. The Eastern Division first-place Rams improve to 14-4 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
