HOLLIDAYSBURG-Jersey Shore traveled west to take on another defending District championship team, this week in Hollidaysburg (District 6, 5 A) as its super tough non-conference schedule continues in the 2024 season.

The Bulldogs scored twice early to take a 13-0 lead and in the game were led offensively by senior quarterback, Elijah Jordan.  Jordan ended the game passing for 232 yards, going 14 of 28 attempts including 4 touchdown passes, 1 interception and he was sacked once.
The touchdown passes included a 24 yard completion to Trent Severnio and 3 scores to Evan Snyder, covering 10, 15 and 27 yards.  Paul Hale also had a solid night on the receiving end, hauling in 2 passes for 63 yards.
The Bulldogs were led in the rushing attack by Jordan with 23 carries for 92 yards, Brody Herr with 12 for 60 yards and Bo Sechrist with 8 for 49 yards.  As a team, ‘Shore compiled 245 yards on the ground, its second solid consecutive game with its rushing attack.
The game featured multiple scoring plays from both squads with Hollidaysburg coming back from the early deficit to take the lead 24-19 at the end of the third quarter.  The Golden Tigers eventually kicked a 35 yard field goal to give the home team the final margin of victory at 27-25 on its homecoming night.
‘Shore made a valiant effort to win the game late with an impressive drive from deep in its own territory taking the ball all the way to a third and goal within the Hollidaysburg 5 yard line.  On that decisive play, the ball was knocked loose and Hollidaysburg recovered to seal the victory.
With the win, Hollidaysburg improved its record to 6-1 and will host another PHAC (Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference) team in Selinsgrove next week.  With the loss, ‘Shore falls to 5-2 and will stay on the road with a trip to Lansdowne, PA (near Philadelphia) to take on 6A Penn Wood (2-5) on Friday at 7 PM.
