Central Mountain Golf Dominates Benton
BENTON-The Central Mountain golf team rebounded in style with a decisive win over non-league opponent Benton Area High School at Mill Race Golf Club, a par 70 course. Central Mountain posted a team score of 306, outpacing Benton’s 422. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Stevan Fisher, who earned medalist honors with a stellar round of 73.
Fisher’s strong play was backed up by Jamison Beachy, who turned in a 76, and Zach St Clair, who shot 78, completing Central Mountain’s top three. Evan Walker also contributed with a solid 79, while Michael Lodek and Owen Wunder rounded out the squad’s scoring with an 81 and 98, respectively.
For Benton, Paul Ribble led his team with a score of 93, but the squad couldn’t match Central Mountain’s depth. Blaze Conway and Nolan Karstetter both shot 92 and 93 for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats now face a busy week ahead with two league matches, both at home, against Jersey Shore and Williamsport, as they look to build on this momentum.
