Phoenix Golf Falls to Shamokin; Set Sights on Mid Penn Tournament Tuesday
MACKEYVILLE-Sugar Valley Rural Charter School’s golf team took on Shamokin at Belles Springs Golf Course on Monday. Despite their efforts, Sugar Valley fell to Shamokin, with a final score of 175 to 226.
Leading the way for the Phoenix was Bryer Martin, who posted a score of 50. Layden Bryan followed closely with a 52, while Remmington Ripka scored 57, and Landon Pletcher rounded out the team with a 67.
For Shamokin, the top scorers were Hayden Karlovich and Lincoln Waugh, each carding a 42. They were followed by Cru Shroyer with a 45 and Kamryan Kramer with a 46.
The Phoenix will return to action on Tuesday at Belles Springs Golf Course for a Mid Penn Conference Tournament. They will face Benton Area, Montgomery Area, and Sullivan County, with tee time set for 2 p.m.
