Playground Perfection: Hoberman Park Officially Open for Play After Rainy Setbacks

LOCK HAVEN— The City of Lock Haven is thrilled to announce that the eagerly anticipated Hoberman Park Playground on Prospect Street is now officially open for play. Following a weekend of final surfacing and soil work completed by the city’s Department of Public Works, the playground is officially open and ready for families and children to enjoy.

The kid-designed and community-built project kicked off at the beginning of August with help from the nonprofit organization KABOOM!, the Pennsylvania Municipal League, and members of the community who volunteered time to help build the playground. Despite rain delays, the effort culminated successfully, fostering a sense of collective achievement among residents.

“We ask that users be kind to the newly planted grass and stay off the seeded areas,” Abbey Roberts, City Planner and Development Coordinator, said in a press release Friday afternoon. “After a period of rain delays, we welcome everyone to come out and play!” Roberts added.
