Obituary – Kathryn E. (Geise) Hirlinger

Kathryn E. (Geise) Hirlinger, 89, of Renovo passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Haven Place in Lock Haven.

Born November 10, 1934 in Sunbury she was a daughter of the late Lester and Ruth (Hummel) Geise.

She was married in Renovo to Raymond G. Hirlinger in 1956 until his passing in 2014.

Kay graduated from Renovo High School in 1952 and the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. After a short employment in Ohio, she started work at the Bucktail Medical Center in 1963 and retired in 1985. She worked an additional 2 years with Community Nursing.

Kay enjoyed tending to her backyard flowers, crocheting but especially loved time spent with her family. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Surviving are three children, Karen (Rick) Miller of Williamsport, Kevin (Tracie) Hirlinger of Mill Hall and Ruth (Mark) Allen of O’Fallon, ILL.

Also surviving are several grandchildren, Erica, Dan and Andrew Miller, Matthew and Stephen Hirlinger, Alicia (Josh) Touma, Tyler (Laura) Allen, Bryan Allen and seven great grandchildren.

She is survived by a sister Nancy (Jim) Bowes of Flemington.

A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church (Improvement Fund) in her memory.
