Mike Kraft to return as Lock Haven’s head volleyball coach
LOCK HAVEN – Mike Kraft has been named the Lock Haven head volleyball coach.
“Mike Kraft will return as our head women’s volleyball coach after a brief stint at Penn State University,” said Dr. Tom Gioglio, Lock Haven director of athletics. “I am confident that Mike will continue where he left off in moving our program forward.”
Following the 2023 season – his first season at The Haven – Kraft was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Coach of the Year after guiding the Bald Eagles back to the PSAC tournament. Lock Haven’s 11 wins during the fall were the most in five years.
Kraft was originally hired at The Haven in May of 2023 and after he led Lock Haven to remarkable turnaround during the fall he resigned in January. Kraft spent the last four months as an assistant coach with Penn State’s Division I men’s volleyball program. Kraft helped lead the Nittany Lions to 23 wins (23-7), a perfect run in conference play, an Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Conference title and a berth in the NCAA national tournament this spring.
