Four Wildcats set to play in 39th Annual Lezzer Lumber Classic 

State College- For a foursome of Central Mountain Wildcats, their high school football career will carry on in June

Rocco Serafini, Conner Foltz, Dylan Baker and Brayden Diehl have all been selected by the Central PA Football Coaches Association to participate in the 39th Annual Lezzer Lumber Classic All Star game held on Sunday, June 16 at 5pm at Memorial Field in State College.

The Wildcats made some improvements during the 2023 season by collecting 3 victories and competing in the District 6 5A title game against Hollidaysburg, now those efforts have been rewarded through some individual accolades.

Serafini was the Wildcats’ workhorse. He was their featured back, rushing 222 times for 1,098 yards and 13 touchdowns. Those efforts would see Serafini earn a second team selection to the Pennsylvania Heartland Conference All-Stars. Serafini also received all-star honors at outside linebacker as a second teamer.

Foltz, a Lock Haven University signee caught 43 passes for a team-high 560 yards and 5 scores. Foltz was named to the PHAC All-Star second team offense at Wide Receiver, honorable mention as an offensive specialist, second team defensive back and second team returner. He was also a PHAC honorable mention for overall athlete.

Offensive linemen Baker and Deihl were chosen as being among the best in the trenches of the PHAC. Both were named second team offensive linemen in 2023 and were very crucial in Serafini reaching the 1,000-yard mark.

The Lezzer Lumber Classic will consist of mainly District 6 schools, with Central Mountain playing on the North squad. A handful of District 9 schools such as Dubois, Central Clarion, Curwensville and Clearfield will also be on the North team.

Bald Eagle Area, West Branch, Moshannon Valley, Penns Valley, Glendale and State College ae just some of the other teams featured on the North team. Bald Eagle Area head coach Jesse Nagle will be the head coach of the North, with fellow BEA assistants Luke Showers and Brett Umbenhouer assisting. Moshannon Valley’s Chris Davidson and Clearfield’s Myles Caragein will also be assisting.

The South squad will be made up from players representing Central, Tyrone, Huntingdon, Altoona, Juniata, Juniata Valley, Mount Union, Bellwood-Antis, Bishop Guilfoyle, Central, Mifflin County and Southern Huntingdon.
