Phoenix Wins Final Dual Meet

WELLSBORO- The Sugar Valley Rural Charter wrestling squad ended the 2023-24 dual meet season on a positive note, as the Phoenix traveled to Wellsboro and handed the Green Hornets a 30-24 loss. The win by the Phoenix set their final dual meet season record at 11-16, as they will now get ready for the District 4 Sectional Tournament at Hughesville High School on Saturday, February 17th.
In the win over Wellsboro, the Phoenix picked up falls from Jarren McCloskey (139), Cameron Quick (152) and Brandon Galentine (215), while Leroy Culvey (107) and Wyatt Conoway (145) both picked up forfeit wins.
Now with the regular season concluded Cameron Quick leads the team into the Sectional Tournament with a 27-5 record, while Jarren McCloskey is second on the squad with a 24-9 record. Wyatt Conoway is current;y 17-8, while Levi Galentine is 17-11 heading into the postseason
The rest of the squad records for the regular season were Cayden Weaver (16-13), Leroy Culvey (9-9), Gavin Matter (8-1), Connor Ohl (6-3), Koda Mincer (5-2), Ethan Bartenope (8-12), Brandon Galentine (5-17), Grayson Hastings (4-8) and Sam Goldsmith (1-11).
