LHU Women’s Track & Field competes at Youngstown Collegiate Invitational
YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – The Lock Haven women’s indoor track and field team kicked off its weekend by competing in the Youngstown Collegiate Invitational hosted by Youngstown State University on Friday (Jan. 19) at the Watson and Tressel Training Site.
Aubrey Sechrist (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) set a personal best in the 800-meter run, placing fifth with a PSAC qualifying time of 2:21.94.
Gwen Lloyd (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) also added a fifth-place nod, leading The Haven in the 3000-meter run with a finish of 10:33.08, which is a PSAC mark.
Leading the sprinters, Samantha Trench (Brick, N.J./Ocean Township) placed ninth in the 60-meter hurdles, just missing a spot in the finals after running 9.68 in the prelims.
In the field, Reagan Irons (Tyrone, Pa./Tyrone) added a pair of top-10 finishes, securing bronze in the high jump (4-11.75) and placing 10th in the triple jump (32.09).
Hunter Barger (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain), Liberty Gearinger (Berwick, Pa./Central Columbia), Megan Mengel (Reading, Pa./Wyomissing) and Natalie Gentzel (Yaphank, N.Y./Bellport) teamed up to place seventh in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 4:15.79.
