She was united in marriage to the love of her life, S. Wade Judy on August 19th, 1956.
Joretta began her teaching career in West Virginia. Upon moving back to Pennsylvania, she continued teaching Family & Consumer Science at the Jersey Shore Area School District. Her teaching career spanned thirty years, until she retired to help care for her granddaughters.

She was a long-time member of the Woolrich Community Church, where she served as a Sunday school and bible school teacher.
Among her many interests, her favorites were the ones she shared with her family. She especially enjoyed trips to the Outer Banks (“Nags Head”, as she lovingly called it regardless of what town the family stayed in) and following her granddaughters around on their many adventures that their hobbies took them on. A highlight was a family world trip in 1972 that included stops in Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Hawaii, Egypt, and Italy.
Surviving are a son, John Gordon Judy, and granddaughters Melanie Thompson (Steven) of Harrisburg, PA and Amanda Judy (Anthony Mastriania) of Hyattsville, MD.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Colleen Davis and Diane Davis.
Joretta loved her family dearly. Since her husband, S. Wade Judy, joined the Lord in 2015, she has been anxiously awaiting her reunion with him. She has also been looking forward to being reunited with her former pet dog, a Pomeranian named Skylar that she and Wade both loved deeply. Joretta’s family is finding peace knowing that she and her husband are now together again forever.
