Record Breaking Weekend for Central Mountains Camryn Bair at BlueJay Invitational
BLOOMSBURG, PA- The Central Mountain Girls Swim Team competed at the BlueJay 1st Chance Invitational Saturday on the Campus of Bloomsburg University. Junior Camryn Bair looked impressive as she won the 50 Freestyle & the 100 Breaststroke. She broke Rachel Marek’s 100 Breaststroke school record that was set back in 2018. Bair had to fend off a late race surge from Berwick’s Madelyn Frey to capture the title. Coach Bair said, “that was a great race. Camryn got a great start off the blocks and her stroke looked very smooth. I am very proud of her and the hard work that she puts into this sport.” Also picking up an individual title for the Wildcats was Senior Ana Persun. Persun won the 200 Freestyle, dropping 5 seconds from last weekends invitational and finished 3rd in the 100 Fly. For the 2nd weekend in a row, the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle Relay teams brought home gold. Abrianna Hosley, Gabriella Hosley, Persun, and Bair had to come from behind in both relays to get the victory. Gabriella Hosley swam a personal best time in the 200 IM to finish 2nd. Abrianna Hosley looked strong in the 500 Freestyle finishing 3rd, 5 seconds faster than last weekend. Hosley also finished 2nd in the 100 backstroke. The Wildcats have a week off before traveling to Mt. Carmel for a tri-meet on Dec. 19th.
