LHU Swimming returns to action, competes on day one at the Wooster Invite
WOOSTER, OH– The Lock Haven women’s swimming team traveled to Wooster, Ohio on Thursday (Nov. 30) to compete in day one of three at the Wooster Invite inside Ellen Shapiro Natatorium.
Every Lock Haven swimmer recorded at least one season-best time on the day.
Sydney Houck (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) recorded a PSAC qualifying time in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time trial, besting the conference mark of 1:11.27.
Emma Pequignot (Dover, Pa./Dover) made the finals in the 200-meter IM after finishing 16th with a time of 2:22.18 in the prelims. The junior followed that performance up with a 12-place finish in the final tonight, with a PSAC Qualifying time of 2:18.11. Pequignot cut two seconds off her PSAC qualifying time from last season.
Nora Craig (Derry, Pa./Derry) led a pair of Bald Eagles in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:48.83.
Alaina Cane (Bellefonte, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) led the Bald Eagles in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.52.
Jessie Noly (Hop Bottom, Pa./Elk Lake) also swam a personal-best in the 50-yard freestyle.
Craig, Noldy, Cane and Espefani Santos-Soto teamed up for an impressive 200-meter freestyle relay, finishing 15th with a swim of 1:48.74.
