Christmas parade, festivities usher in holiday season downtown

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Hundreds of young and old alike ushered in the holiday season in downtown Lock Haven Saturday evening, the final event for Downtown Lock Haven Inc.’s Small Business Saturday events.

Though the parade started off with city fire crews unexpectedly leading the event in the form of heading to a call, the parade still went off without a hitch. City fire crews were back right in time to join in the middle-end of the festivities.

Several church groups had Christmas-themed floats along with a full angel choir from Lock Haven Catholic School. Newcomers to the parade this year, Keystone Junior Rodeo Association, displayed rodeo sports through roping and riding of horses down Main Street.

The night was capped off with a visit from Santa and his reindeer direct from the North Pole tucked away in Sarah’s Alley between Stella A’s and Rachel K’s Creations.

The festivities, which appear to be growing in number each year, are just one of the ways that Downtown Lock Haven, Inc. has helped spread the word about the business community in the downtown area.
