CM Soccer Teams Seeking Wins

cm-soccerBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP — This week has been off to a rough start for the Central Mountain varsity soccer programs.

Coach Jeff Brinker’s boys team fell Tuesday 2-0 at Shikellamy. The Wildcats outshot the Braves 17-6 and had a 3-1 edge in corner kicks but could not get the ball in the back of the net. David Kohen had four saves in goal.

The Wildcats last Thursday humbled Shamokin by a 10-0 count at Malinak Stadium.

The split of the two recent games leaves Central Mountain at 4-3; next up, a home match with Montoursville on Thursday.

Coach Ryan Veltri’s girls team traveled to Selinsgrove (4-0) on Monday and was white-washed by a 2-0 count. For the Lady ‘Cats it was their first loss of the season and dropped their record to 4-1-1.

The girls start a home stand next Monday, hosting Milton, followed by Williamsport on Wednesday.
