Clinton Correctional Facility Sees First COVID Cases
McELHATTAN, PA – The Clinton County Correctional Facility is dealing with an initial run of COVID-19 victims within the lockup, but Warden Angela Hoover said all 50 active cases should be off quarantine by Dec. 16.
The warden shared the caseload numbers at the county prison board meeting on Wednesday. She said the current detainee population is 169 and a first positive test came back on Nov. 20. She said 148 detainees were tested between Nov. 20 and Dec. 8, part of a year-to-date 389 tests administered.
According to Hoover, there have been 76 positive tests among the inmate population. As of her Wednesday report, 26 are now off quarantine and there are 50 active cases; she said all the active cases should be off quarantine by Dec. 16.
The correctional facility has a staff of 76. So far this year, the warden reported, 44 tests have been administered, showing 11 positive cases, 29 negative and four pending.
