BELLEFONTE – Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky has been resentenced to 30-to-60 years in state prison on 45 counts of child sex abuse.

Sandusky was present in the Centre County Court House Friday afternoon after an appeals court had directed a resentencing. Visiting Judge Maureen Skerda re-imposed the same sentence and Sandusky was returned in cuffs to the state prison in Somerset.

He told the court, “I apologize that I’m unable to admit remorse for something I didn’t do. No matter what, nobody or nothing will be able to take away what’s in my heart.”

Jennifer Storm, a state victim advocate, read statements from five victims who said they experienced humiliation, an inability to trust others and attempted suicide.

Sandusky was represented by attorney Al Lindsay who said he is attempting to get a new trial for his client.

Sandusky had been found guilty in 2012 in the serial sexual abuse of 10 boys.

It was at Central Mountain High School where “Victim 1,” Aaron Fisher and his mother Dawn Hennessy went to school officials in 2008 with their concerns about Sandusky. A mammoth state investigation followed, Sandusky was arrested, convicted and, based on Friday’s court ruling, he will continue to serve 30 to 60 years in prison.
