Floating Stage is Gone, Jaycees Regatta Is Coming
LOCK HAVEN – A city crew Wednesday morning removed Lock Haven’s floating stage from the west branch of the Susquehanna as preparations pick up for the 49th edition of the Jaycees Labor Day Regatta, a longstanding city tradition.
The stage and the city’s new boat dock were transported by a Citizens Hose boat across the river to the boat launch area in Lockport for disassembling. Meanwhile the first Regatta boaters have begun to arrive for a 4-day show, starting with the opening of the Water Street midway Friday at 6 p.m. Three days of boating kicks off Saturday at 10 a.m.
The weatherman promises pleasant weather for at least the first two days of the Regatta, with a chance for storms on Sunday. Fireworks are set for Sunday at 10:30 p.m., rain date Monday at 9 p.m.
