Environmental Clean-Up Team at Lock Haven’s Dollar General

LOCK HAVEN – The Dollar General store at 16 E. Main St. in Lock Haven remains closed as of midweek this week, the lights on, the front door locked.

An environmental clean-up team was again inside the building on Wednesday. While the Dollar General organization has not commented on a cause for the closing, a worker with AIT Environmental Technology told therecord-online his firm was removing mold from inside. The Ohio-based firm was first observed on site last week, not long after the business was locked up.

The van from AIT Environmental Technology was again parked on Main Street, the vehicle with signage that said “Mold Removal – Indoor Air Quality Assessment- Disaster Response.”

A Dollar General employee who identified herself as from another company store was on the sidewalk outside but provided no information as to when the store might reopen. An AIT employee said perhaps in another week or so.

A Dollar General spokesperson last week issued a statement saying that “store conditions” were being addressed and the discount store will be kept closed “until matters can be resolved.”
