Overnight Armed Robbery at Flying J

PORTER TOWNSHIP – There was an armed robbery overnight at the Flying J truck stop at the Lamar Exit of Interstate 80.

Preliminary information from state police said the robbery occurred at 2:57 a.m. Tuesday when an armed intruder “pointed the firearm at the cashier and demanded the money in the cash register.” The intruder fled with money; state police did not say how much was taken and did not provide any additional information in their first report. Anyone with information should contact the police at the Lamar barracks.
