Renovo Bank Hit by Robbers

RENOVO – For the second time in two years the Santander Bank office on Erie Avenue in Renovo has been robbed.

The preliminary report to the record-online said two individuals wearing hoods and masks robbed the bank Monday afternoon and fled on foot south on Fourth Street. No other information on the heist was immediately available.

From Clinton County District Attorney, Dave Strouse:

Description of 2 suspects:

First male: wearing blue hoodie with unknown color hat, blue or purple stripes running under arm pit of sweatshirt, red gloves, blue sneakers

Second wore a gray hooded sweatshirt with green pin stripes on the hood, gray sweatpants or jeans and unknown color gloves.

More information and additional descriptions will soon follow.

Meanwhile the Keystone Central School District has alerted parents of students at the Bucktail school complex that the school day was being extended as a precautionary measure:

Bucktail Families: Your child will be released at a delayed time today due to a request by the Pennsylvania State Police to enact a shelter in place for the Bucktail campus. There is no immediate danger to the children or campus, but this is a precautionary measure due to an incident happening in the Renovo Borough. Dismissal, including parent pick-up, will commence under the direction of the Pennsylvania State Police. We will make the announcement about dismissal as soon as we hear from the authorities. Again, all children are safe…this is a precautionary measure.

The same bank had been robbed on Oct. 2015 and the robber later apprehended and sentenced to prison.
