Keystone Little League: Not Done Yet; Three Straight Wins Needed

key-base-logoBRISTOL, CONN — The Keystone Little League team is half way through its quest for a Mid-Atlantic title and a berth in the Little League World Series later this month.

After going 2-and-1 through the first three games, the Keystoners have a daunting but not impossible task to claim the Mid-Atlantic crown.

Keystone took the first step toward a possible title with Tuesday’s 5-1 win over Freehold Township of New Jersey. They now must come back and do what they achieved to take the Pennsylvania crown: win three straight games and they’re on their way to South Williamsport’s Lamade Stadium and the World Series.

Here’s how it could happen:

Thursday, 7 p.m. – Elimination bracket semifinal vs. Milton, Del. (8-3); a win there puts Keystone into:

Friday, 7 p.m. – Elimination bracket final vs. loser of Wednesday’s winners’ bracket final between Capitol City of Washington (8-0) and Maine-Endwell of New York (17-0); a win Friday puts Keystone into:

Sunday, 7 p.m. – Championship game vs. winner of the Wednesday game between Capitol City and Maine-Endwell.

Take all three and the boys in blue will be heading for the Little League complex in South Williamsport for the Aug. 18 start of the 70th annual Little League World Series.
